If you're like me at this time, I'm guessing your travel doesn't involve a plane, boat or many people surrounding you; so where do you go?

I have the privilege of adventure surrounding me. My boyfriend, Jeremy and I moved to Colorado just shy of a year ago due to his job and it has proven to be one of the biggest blessings we have received. We have found the most incredible views for locals, and tourists surrounding the Denver area.
IF YOU FEEL LIKE YOU'RE JUST HANGING IN THERE DAY BY DAY, I RECOMMEND ACTUALLY DOING JUST THAT. Jermey and I decided we needed to get out of the house and find a little adventure of our own. After a solid few hours of arguing what places were open and vice versa, he insisted that we just get in the car and go.
Just Take A Drive...
We drove to this badass spot called Button Rock Dam about an hour from Southlands in Aurora. The panoramic views of every crevice we breathed in were just bananas! This "hike" was 1.5 miles long with man-made (tiny) waterfalls and streams along the path to the dam. Every which way you looked was just mesmerizing.

We arrived to the dam and found another path...

Just off the beaten path a few feet was a more rocky, over achiever path to take you further. I would highly recommend wearing hiking boots to make this walk/trek a little easier..If you like to live on the wild side, go for sneakers (I'm a chicken shit). The path was only an extra .5 miles to get to a quiet, serene view of the lake hosting the dam and wildlife all around. Here is where we found two perfect trees and a view to setup shop.
GET YOU A HAMMOCK

We found this bad boy in the garage after Jeremy's step-mom gave it to him years ago. It's only 1.8 pounds and packs perfectly in any backpack! We always take it with us, but have a hard time finding the right trees the set it up. THIS PLACE WAS PERFECT! A little paracord will get the job done!
P.S. The hammock brand is Swift-N-Snug and can be found on Amazon for around $30. It fits the two of us comfortably and is totally worth the purchase!
We laid in the hammock for quite a while just enjoying nature and the sounds of the birds in the trees until we realized we probably did not want to be trying to hike back down the path after dark. After we folded the hammock back up and took in the appreciation for the day we had, it was time to head home.
Grab Inspiration When You Hear It

This is a weird time in everyones life. It doesn't matter if you are an avid adventure seeker, long time book reader, or simply a homebody, quarantine is hard on EVERYONE.. If you hear that little voice in the back of your head saying "take me outside", you should listen to it. Find a field, nearby creek or simply walk through your neighborhood. THE FRESH AIR WILL DO YA GOOD!
I find myself living a fairytale through adventure every time we get in the car and drive. Take the time to appreciate the small things, whether it be a mountain range, or a flower garden, or even clipping your grandmas toenails...find the JOY IN EVERYTHING.
