5 Songs For ALL My Moods

Updated: May 18, 2020

What songs do you bump to get you in any kind of mood? I've got jams for every kind of inspirational feeling I'm looking for...

I'm that basic chick that loves a good "window's rolled down, radio up" kind of day.

Full disclosure: My sister made sure to let me know she hates all of these songs. If you feel the same way, that's cool.

I don't want to be alone forever, Maybe we can see the world together. I don't want to be alone forever, but I can be toniiiiiiiight..." - Lady Gaga

I will embarrassingly jam to any song on the radio. I tend to do this thing where I sing, or hum the words to a song...AND I've never heard it before. I annoy myself with this one!

Top 5 songs that have spoken to me in my life

1. How Great Thou Art by Carrie Underwood

This song hits me in so many ways. It has been played at all family related funerals I've been to. If you read my first blog, you know that's far too many to count. Thankfully I have gotten to a place where I find this song to have so much happy meaning to it...before I wanted to turn it off the second I heard it come on. #growth

2. What The World Needs Now Is Love by Audra Day

Ya'll would laugh if you saw how hype I get when this song comes on. We all need LOVE! When I sing along to this song, I seriously feel all the #happiness flow through my body. I sing at the top of my lungs KNOWING that I sound like I should be on #broadway - just ask me.

3. Valerie by Amy Winehouse

You better stop it right now with this one. This is my ALL TIME FAVORITE song EVER. I have this little jig I start doing when it comes on. The #basic girl shoulder shrug gets going and I can't seem to control it. I'm not even sure that I want to. All I know is that "Sometimes I go out by myself, and I look across the water".

4. You & Me by Disclosure

Tear Jerker I tell ya. I'll set the stage for ya...New Year's Eve. Nasty, dirty #campus bar. Over priced cover but totally worth every penny. A DJ. A girl and her brother with a #song request. Christian, my brother, was the biggest #hype man for what was taking place. Pretty sure I spent $20 to get this DJ to play this song so we could live out the most obnoxious 4min 43secs of our lives. BEST MEMORY EVER.

5. Gypsy by Lady Gaga

I thought it would be a good idea to leave the house at the age of 19 and move across the #country to Los Angeles, California with one of my best friends, Emmily (yes, 2 m's). This was the theme song the whole drive there...still is. Not only is it one of my #favorites, it basically describes my mindset of just saying F*ck it, lets go on this adventure called life and you should too!

WHAT I HAVE FOUND THROUGH MUSIC

Life is so unpredictable, but at the end of the day, it's your life to live. Find music that moves you in different directions, maybe even different parts of the country. Find that balance of #happiness, mental sanity and a pinch of no f*cks given. If you take a leap of faith, chances are the stepping stones will be placed right in front of you. Put yourself in life situations that bring you joy, most of the time they lead you to exactly where you are supposed to be.

DONT FORGET

"Live through love, learn through patience, and accept kindness with gratitude"
